Subject: : Gathering perceptions on Type 2 diabetes mellitus landscape from prevalence to management (DM Landscape)
Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disorder characterized by hyperglycemia, which is due to impaired glucose utilization resulting from either insulin deficiency or insensitiveness of target tissues to Insulin. Diabetes with its ever-increasing global prevalence has emerged as one of the most important and challenging health issues confronting the human population of the present world. The increase in the prevalence of diabetes in most regions across the globe has been parallel to the rapid economic development, leading to urbanization and adoption of modern lifestyle habits.
Clinical outcomes can be improved in long-term care residents with the development and oversight of protocols and tools to properly manage DM in this population.7 Considering the large number of people with diabetes and the growing projected numbers, there is an urgent need to develop and implement coordinated and multi-sectoral strategies to tackle diabetes. It has been shown that T2D can be prevented or delayed through lifestyle modification or administration of some pharmacological agents.
The purpose of this survey is to gather perceptions on Type 2 diabetes mellitus landscape from prevalence to management in uncontrolled patients of diabetes.
This multicenter survey is planned to understand the perceptions among healthcare practitioners in India with regard to diagnosis and management of hypertension.
