Objective: Assessment of management of Osteoporosis and Real-World Use of Teriparatide by Orthopedicians across India
Teriparatide, an analogue of parathyroid hormone is indicated for the treatment of men and postmenopausal women with osteoporosis who are at high risk of fracture. It increases Bone mineral density and reduces the risk of vertebral and non-vertebral fractures
However, Osteoporosis is a silent disease and often overlooked. Bone loss can occur without any symptoms, until the fracture actually occurs. Widespread adoption of Teriparatide, over the last decade, has generated substantial experience of its use in routine clinical practice.
Extensive clinical trial data on Teriparatide conducted in different countries is available. However, there is lack of real-world data on use of Teriparatide in Indian patients. For this purpose, we have planned a real world study to assess the management of Osteoporosis and in-clinic use of Teriparatide amongst Orthopedicians across India
