Subject : A multi-centric, cross-sectional, observational survey study to understand the role of combination of astaxanthin, lutein, zeaxanthin, DHA, vitamins and minerals (New I-Site plus tablet) in Diabetic Retinopathy
Diabetic retinopathy, the cause of vision impairment for about 146 million people worldwide, is a diabetic eye complication similar to wet AMD in that it involves damaged blood vessels in the retina that can cause blurred vision, floating spots, or blindness. High blood sugar as a result of diabetes can lead to damaged blood vessels in the inner retina, triggering these symptoms.1
Nutritional treatment can preserve the normal physiology, structure and functions of retina. Nutrition-based approaches have a high potential to be developed as adjunct therapy for arresting the occurrence or progression of DR in early stages and can serve as a non-invasive and cost-effective treatment which can be within the means of every socioeconomic status. Nutritional strategies can substantially reduce the risk of developing DR, proving quite beneficial in DR cases resistant towards the conventional medical treatment.2
This multi-centric, cross-sectional, observational survey study is planned to understand the role of combination of astaxanthin, lutein, zeaxanthin, DHA, vitamins and minerals (New I-Site plus tablet) in diabetic retinopathy.
We invite you to participate in this study and share your experience through a cross-sectional survey, thus, it is not an experimental/interventional study.
We trust you and we are partners in promoting safe effective medical therapy. In that spirit we hope you will consent to participate in this study. If you do, please sign and return the enclosed reply along with your visiting card for accuracy of records.
