Sub: To understand perception of Tacrolimus eye drop usage in Ophthalmology
Tacrolimus ophthalmic is an immunosuppressive agent used to treat keratoconjunctivitis sicca (KCS), also known as dry eye. It can also be used for other immune mediated eye conditions such as chronic superficial keratitis (CSK), also inhibits the release of histamine from mast cells and impairs prostaglandin synthesis. Tacrolimus has shown to be effective in the treatment of immune-mediated diseases such as corneal graft rejection, ocular inflammation, ocular pemphigoid, and uveitis.
